Dear International Student Teachers,
You are each amazing and adventurous as you embark on your student teaching experience in another country! You’ve been well-prepared for this journey with a strong foundation of knowledge, a solid set of skills, and the kinds of beliefs about children, teaching and learning that we, at BSU, know make for the very best teachers! This fall you also have with you an iPad to utilize and enhance your students’ learning and yours too!
We’ve created a blog for you to post to as often as you’d like while you’re away to tell us about any part of your experiences, post photos, reflect of your teachable moments, etc. Also, there will be a weekly prompt we want you to take a few minutes to write about. With your iPad in hand, we very much want to know what Apps you’ve found to use in the classroom and the other ways you’re incorporating this amazing tool for learning. We’ve created a special place for you to share reviews of apps you’ve found and used — look for the “Virtual App-y Hour” wiki on the left-hand side of the screen. Sometimes the weekly prompts will be specific to the iPad in the classroom and sometimes it will be much more general (e.g., your “ah-ha” moment of the week).
We are looking forward to sharing your exciting student teaching experience with you and seeing you again at the end of the semester!
For your first blogging, please take a few minutes and comment on this post about your initial impressions including your thoughts on the ease of staying connected to BSU and tech tools.
