Visiting Tess, Kayla and Becca at the Leighton Academy, Spring 2014

I visited and observed Kayla, Becca and Tess at the Leighton Academy in Crewe last week. Kayla taught a lesson to her Year 6 (5th graders) on the rhyme scheme. The students were very engaged as Kayla introduced them – as she reviewed rhyme scheme – to the poet Shel Silverstein (the English do not know Shel). Tess has a class of Year 1 students, 1st graders. Tess read Dr Seuss, “One Fish”. Fun! As she read the story she asked her students to identify the rhyme. Becca taught her ‘K’ students …. A lesson on emotions. She introduced her lesson with a story via video using her Smartboard. The student were each given a paper plate to draw a face to show an emotion. Excellent lessons by each of our three students!!
