Manchester

Hi everyone,

Matt and I have arrived in Manchester.  It’s been a crazy two days. My flight from Paris to Manchester got cancelled yesterday because of the fog so they put me on a plane to Dublin. From Dublin I flew to Manchester. The airline lost my two bags but they found one and are currently looking for another one. The accommodations are great we are in a house with a kitchen and dining area. We start school tomorrow at Leighton Academy. We are both in year three with seven year olds which would be the equivalent of our grade two. After two weeks Matt will go to a secondary school. We also are going to be attending classes one day a week at the university which will be interesting to see the differences. I am going to be attending a religious education class. Matt doesn’t know what class he will be taking yet. We will be teaching Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s.

We will post soon,

Savina and Matt

Brockton to Crewe, England

Hi all,

Today was my last day student teaching at the Davis School in Brockton. I had such a great experience working with my second grade class. The staff was so helpful and welcoming. The second grade teachers all collaborate with each other to plan lessons and eat lunch together. They are such a close group I hope that my grade is like that when I become a teacher. My class gave me the book Paddington as a good bye gift since I am going to England. They asked if I would take a picture of myself at the station when I visit London. I had the students write letters to my class in England as pen pals and will bring them with me. Once my class in England writes letters I will mail them back to the  Davis School in Brockton. The students were sad to see me go and I was as well to leave them after being with them for the past eight weeks. However, I can not wait for my adventure in England to begin.

Best of luck,

Savina P
