Semana Santa

This past week was our vacation and it was absolutely amazing! We traveled twelve hours by bus to get to the coast of Ecuador, but it was so worth it. While there we visited three beach towns (Puerto Lopez, Ayampe, and Monanita), ate some of the most amazing seafood, and were really able to relax and regroup after being in Ecuador for a month. What was really incredible, though, was that each beach town offered us something unique to do. In Puerto Lopez we were able to go to Los Frailes and the Poor Man’s Galapagos on Isla de Plata where we saw some of the most beautiful views, snorkeled, and were able to take pictures with a blue footed booby! Ayampe gave us one of the best hostel experiences any of us had every had with beachfront access, a relaxing atmosphere, and the chance to meet people from all over the world. Montanita, although not quite as relaxing as the others, was fun and exciting with lots of activities to do and people to meet. All three of us were to sad to leave but it was an incredible experience we will never forget.
